Scanning
Your team scans the ticket. The screen shows the name, the tier and the seat. If the guest is a VIP, the screen says so. It also says what to do: escort to row one, call the host, hand over the wristband. Nobody asks "and you are?" Works without wifi, theatre lobbies have thick walls.

Your iPhone is the scanner. The app runs on the phones your team already has. For a bigger door we rent you handheld scanners with a fast scan engine. They read a ticket in bad light and in the rain. Charged, configured and delivered before the show.

Who is in the room, on your phone. Per tier, per door, per minute. At 19:50 you see which nominee is not in yet. The stage manager sees the same number and holds the show for ten minutes, or does not.
